You know, I really do understand how very blessed I am to be able to be an artist and continually have the ability to work at my craft. Whether it’s designing clothes or writing music, it’s all very personal and extremely fulfilling to me. I love what I do and the people I work with, and at the end of the day I just hope that my designs and songwriting help all of you to know who I am just a little better than you thought you did the day before.
Today I had the unbelievable experience of meeting radio host Carla Lundblade and being a guest in a special feature on her radio show “Psyched Up Radio,” which can be heard right now on BlogTalkRadio.com. She was so warm and made me so comfortable, and our conversation was just flowing, and fun.
In an industry where everyone wants a sound bite it was totally refreshing to slow things down and really have a conversation with someone about who I am, how I developed as a person and artist, and how I came to the place where I am today.
It felt so good to talk about my childhood and the sources of my inspiration as a girl growing up in this world. I got to talk about my family history and how instrumental all of those amazing people have been in my journey to becoming who I am today.
The interview lasted nearly 45 minutes, and during that time we also talked a lot about the evolution of my career as a designer and about Richie, and about how we’ve grown together as business partners.
It’s been a long journey to where Nikki Rich is today, and it was fun to journey back in my mind and tell the stories of how it all began. I hope you’ve got a few minutes to tune into this show and learn more about the real me and the real #NikkiRich.
